              ไผน้ำเต้านี้ในบ้านเรานิยมปลูกเป็นไม้ประดับทั้งในกระถางและปลูกลงดิน ไผ่น้ำเต้าจะมีข้อปล้องที่ถี่และป่องกลม โดยส่วนโคนของข้อปล้องจะมีขนาดใหญ่กว่าปลาย ถ้าปลูกเป็นไม้ประดับภายนอกต้องคอยตัดแต่ง อย่าให้สูงมากนักจะทำให้รูปทรงไม่สวย ความสวยงามของไผ่น้ำเต้าก็อยู่ที่ข้อปล้องที่มีลักษณะป่องกลมนี้เอง

น้ำ                             ต้องการน้ำพอสมควร
ดิน                            เจริญเติบโตได้ในดินทุกชนิด
ปุ๋ย                            ใส่ปุ๋ยคอกหรือปุ๋ยหมัก ปีละ 2 ครั้ง
การขยายพันธ์          แยกกอ
โรคและแมลง           ไม่ค่อยพบโรคและแมลงรบกวน
