ลักษณะทั่วไป
เป็นไม้ยืนต้นขนาดกลาง ไม่ผลัดใบ เรือนยอดเป็นพุ่มกลม ลำต้นและกิ่งก้านมักคดงอ โดยเฉพาะกิ่งมักหักงอเป็นข้อศอก ใบ เป็นใบเดี่ยวออกสลับ แผ่นใบรูปไข่กลับ ปลายหยักเว้าเล็กน้อย โคนใบสอบ เนื้อใบหนาเกลี้ยง หลังใบสีเขียวแก่เป็นมัน ท้องใบสีขาวหรือนวล ออกดอกเป็นกระจุกตามง่ามใบ ดอกขนาดเล็ก สีเหลือง ออกดอกระหว่างเดือนมกราคม-กรกฎาคม ผล รูปกลมรี เมื่อสุกสีเหลืองแสด
