ลักษณะทั่วไป
เป็นไม้ยืนต้นขนาดกลางสูง 15–30 เมตร เรือนยอดเป็นรูปพุ่มกลมทึบ เปลือกต้นสีทองหรือสีเทาอมน้ำตาล ใบเป็นใบประกอบแบบขนนกสองชั้น ใบย่อยรูปขอบขนานปลายใบและโคนใบมน ออกเป็นคู่ตรงข้ามกัน ออกดอกเป็นช่อตามปลายกิ่งหรือง่ามใบ สีเหลืองสด กลีบดอกมีลักษณะย่น ออกดอกพร้อมกับใบอ่อนช่วงเดือนมกราคม-มีนาคม ผลเป็นฝักแบนรูปหอก
