ลักษณะทั่วไป
เป็นไม้ยืนต้นขนาดกลาง มีลำต้นสูง 10 เมตร แผ่กิ่งก้านสาขาไปทั่วต้น กิ่งมีขนาดใหญ่ มีรอยแผลอยู่ทั่วไป เป็นรอยแผลที่เกิดจากใบที่ร่วงหล่นไป เปลือกต้นมีสีน้ำตาลหรือสีเทา ใบเป็นใบเดี่ยว สีเขียวเข้มสลับกันไปตามข้อต้น ผิวใบเกลี้ยงเป็นมัน ขอบใบเรียบ ออกดอกเป็นช่อสั้นๆ อยู่ตามปลายกิ่ง กลีบดอกสีขาว เกสรสีชมพูอยู่ตรงกลาง ออกดอกช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายน-ธันวาคม ผลขนาดใหญ่ โคนเป็นสี่เหลี่ยมป้าน ปลายสอบ
