ไม้พุ่มเตี้ย ลำต้นกลวง ใบเดี่ยว ออกเป็นคู่ ตามข้อ ของลำต้น รูปร่างใบมี 5 แฉกขนาดใหญ่ ผิวใบระคาย มือก้านใบยาวโคนก้านใบพองโตออกดอกเป็น ช่อตั้งครงทรงฉัตร ตามปลายยอดเป็นดอกเป็นช่อ ตั้งตรงทรงฉัตร ตามปลายยอดดอกเป็นหลอดขนาดเล็ก คล้ายดอกเข็มมีสีแดงและสีเหลือง ออกดอกตลอดปี พบขึ้นในป่าทุกภาคของไทย เจริญเติบโตได้ทั้งที่ กลางแจ้งและที่รำไรขยายพันธุ์โดยใช้เมล็ดตัดชำ และการแยกหน่อ
