เป็นไม้ยืนต้นขนาดกลางถึงขนาดใหญ่สูง 20–25 เมตร ใบเป็นใบเดี่ยว ไม่ผลัดใบ เรือนยอดเป็นพุ่มกลม สีเขียวเข้ม กิ่งอ่อนเกลี้ยง ยอดอ่อนเรียวเล็ก ปลายทู่ เปลือกเรียบสีเทาอ่อนหรือน้ำตาลปนเหลือง เปลือกในสีชมพูเนื้อไม้สีน้ำตาลปนแดง ออกดอกเป็นช่อสั้นที่ซอกใบบริเวณปลายกิ่ง มีดอกย่อย กลีบดอกสีขาว เกสรเพศผู้สีเหลือง มีกลิ่นหอม ออกดอกช่วงเดือนตุลาคม-ธันวาคม ผลเป็นผลสดทรงกลม ปลายผลเป็นติ่งแหลม เมื่อสุกจะมีสีเหลือง
