เป็นไม้ยืนต้นผลัดใบสูง 15–25 เมตร เปลือกสีน้ำตาลอมเทาล่อนเป็นแว่น ใบเป็นใบประกอบแบบขนนกเรียงสลับ ใบย่อยเรียงสลับ แผ่นใบรูปรีแกมรูปไข่ โคนใบและปลายใบมน ท้องใบสีจางกว่าหลังใบ ดอกขนาดเล็ก สีขาวแกมม่วง ผลเป็นฝักแบน รูปหอก หัวท้ายแหลม
