ลักษณะทั่วไป
เป็นไม้ยืนต้นสูง 8–15 เมตร ลำต้นเปลาตรง เปลือกสีเทาปนดำ เปลือกชั้นในสีน้ำตาลปนแดง เรือนยอดรูปทรงกลมทึบ ใบเป็นใบเดี่ยวเรียงสลับ รูปขอบขนาน ปลายใบแหลม โคนใบมน ดอกขนาดเล็ก สีขาวหรือเหลืองอ่อน ออกดอกเดือนกุมภาพันธ์-พฤษภาคม ผลเป็นผลสดค่อนข้างกลม
